Our Projects
Our mission comes to life through programs and initiatives that make a tangible difference. From grassroots gatherings to citywide partnerships, these projects bring people together, address community needs, and put our values into action.
Open Tent
Open Tent invites Jews from all denominations in Central Ohio to come together, share ideas, and offer mutual support in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Whether you want to have meaningful conversations, brainstorm community initiatives, or simply chat and connect, Open Tent provides a space to build relationships, exchange perspectives, and strengthen our local Jewish community.
Shmirat Ha’Adamah
Shmirat Ha’adamah unites the Central Ohio Jewish community to work together to protect the earth and take action towards a sustainable future.
We encourage local institutions and individuals to reduce waste, save energy and educate their communities by providing guidance, resources and hands-on support to implement measurable, meaningful initiatives.
We are proud to be part of Adamah’s Coalition, joining a network of North American Jewish organizations comitted to environmental stewardship and collective action.

Leket Columbus
Leket’s mission is simple and meaningful: we rescue leftover kosher food from community and family events and distribute it to Jewish individuals in need.
If you know someone who would benefit from receiving food through Leket Columbus, please reach out to sign them up as a client.
We also welcome volunteers who can help with storing or distributing the food. Your time and energy make a difference in ensuring that good food is not wasted and that it reaches members of our community who need it most.
For more information, or to get involved, please contact shalomallianceco@gmail.com and write “Leket” in the subject line.

Book Club
Our Book Club brings people together to explore literature connected to Israel—history, culture, memoir, or contemporary life.
Each season we select a book that sparks thoughtful conversation and deepens understanding of Israel and the Jewish experience.
Whenever possible, our reading aligns with speakers or programs in the broader Jewish community, allowing participants to engage with authors, scholars, or community events that complement the book.
Whether you are a seasoned reader or just curious to learn more, the Book Club offers a welcoming space for dialogue, reflection, and connection.

Family Programming
Our Community youth meet-ups bring together kids and teens from across Central Ohio—including CTA, CJDS, and local public schools—for a fun, engaging, and meaningful afternoon.
The session features icebreaker activities focused on understanding antisemitism and fostering dialogue, giving teens the chance to meet and connect with peers from different backgrounds while younger children get to know each other during free play.
Highlights include discussion led by a local expert in resiliency among Jewish youth and an art competition showcasing spoken word, music, photography, multimedia, and 2D/3D visual art.
Teens are encouraged to express their creativity while learning from one another. Planning meetings and volunteer opportunities are open to anyone interested in helping make these events success.

Speaking on Antisemitism
Help us bring in speakers who equip the Central Ohio Jewish community with tools for meaningful, informed dialogue about antisemitism and Israel.
We invite experienced educators, scholars, and facilitators to share research-based strategies for debunking misinformation, reducing polarization, and fostering respectful, values-driven conversations.
Through interactive workshops and community talks, participants gain practical skills, confidence, and deeper understanding—helping them engage neighbors, colleagues, and friends with clarity and empathy.
